The course has been designed for holders of a professional Merchant Marine qualification that allows them to enroll as Captain or Chief Engineer, Officer of the Watch or Engineer, Radio Officer, or an academic degree that leads to the said qualifications.
The course will prepare trainees to implement measures to improve ship security after assessing the risks present in each situation.
Maritime legislation: In accordance with Regulation VI/5, section A-VI/5 of the STCW Code, as well as of the IMO 3.19 model course.
The Jovellanos Center is homologated by the DGMM Resolution of May 18, 2012.

The last class will be delivered by a member of the Security Forces and also includes practical exercises.
The course consists of 24 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 4 days.
