This course has been designed for personnel from fire brigades and industrial fire-fighting services.
Requirement: To be admitted to the course, students must be familiar with the operation and assembly of self-contained breathing equipment.
- Identify fires that pose an imminent risk of hot gas explosion.
- Cool the gases and extinguish the flame of a fire controlled through ventilation.
- Progress of a fuel and ventilation controlled fire.
- Differences between Flashover and Backdraft.
Practical training:
Scaled-down demonstration.
Replication of a ventilated and unventilated fire.
Progress of a ventilation-controlled fire.
Differences between Flashover and Backdraft.
Backdraft gas control exercise.
Proactively attacking interior fires replicating a Backdraft situation.
The course consists of 14 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 2 days.
