Training course for instructors based on the IMO model course 6.09
Collective

This course is designed for persons who hold certificates or professional qualifications in the merchant navy, such as a captain, second mate, first mate or master, chief engineer, first assistant engineer, second assistant engineer, first or second class radio-electronic officer, or a non-maritime university degree that specifically certifies the qualifications to teach certain modules or courses related to the STCW Convention and Training Code.

Goals

At the end of the course, trainees will be in a position to deliver competency-based STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) Convention and Code related courses effectively using appropriate teaching methods and resources.

Methodology

Active methodologies based on student activities will be implemented through the Virtual Campus and the didactic resources available in it, as well as synchronous communication platforms, addressing the contents and practical activities through a blended modality of tutored training, taking into account the competency requirements established in the IMO model course 6.09.

VIRTUAL CAMPUS

The Jovellanos Centre's virtual environment provides access from anywhere to a useful and dynamic learning experience, making it a personalised training process based on a pre-established progress sequence.

Duration

The course consists of 60 teaching hours delivered over 10 weeks.
