This course has been designed for staff working on offshore oil and gas facilities to familiarise them with safety issues and how to respond in the event of an emergency.
Requirements: All trainees taking this course must have the appropriate psychological and physical conditions to complete the training.
Trainees must provide, prior to the beginning of the course, an official medical certificate in force (e.g. certificate of fitness, professional diving certificate, private official medical certificate, company medical certificate).
Trainees shall be introduced to the specific and relevant safety aspects related to offshore facilities, providing them with the knowledge and skills required in the event of an emergency, and during transfers to and from offshore facilities by helicopter.
The course includes a theoretical part, demonstrations by the instructors, and practical exercises that trainees must perform in order to achieve the goals set out.
All the practical training will be performed in a safe and controlled environment supervised by qualified instructors.
Module 1: Safety induction.
Module 2: Abandoning a helicopter.
Module 3: Survival and first aid.
Module 4: Fire-fighting and self-rescue.
The course takes 21 hours and it will be delivered over a period of three days.
