This course has been designed for captains, officers and graduates in nautical studies who want to embark on a professional career in vessel traffic services. It is also directed at vessel traffic service operators who do not have the C0103-1 certification implemented by the International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation (IALA).
Requirements: Be in possession of any of the following STCW Certificates of competence:
- Captain.
- First deck officer.
- Officers in charge of a navigational watch.
- Chief engineer.
- Second engineer.
- Officer in Charge of the Engineering Watch.
- Radiocommunication Officer First Class.
- Radiocommunication Officer Second Class.
The course has been designed to develop the knowledge and skills required to to be able to move to the on-the-job training phase as operators of maritime traffic services in a VTS centre.
Maritime legislation: It strictly follows the IALA C0103-1 course model and the Resolution of the General Direction of the Merchant Marine of 6th July 2011.

The course consists of 60 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 10 days.
