Preventing and combating pollution (Advanced operating level)

Personnel who are or may become team leaders in coordinating and managing the response to an oil spill and who are responsible for the emergency team, for coordinating the work of other agencies involved in the response, for deciding on strategies and tactics to be used to clean up the spilt oil and for coordinating the collection of information.

The Jovellanos Center is homologated by the DGMM Resolution of September 23, 2005.

Goals

The course is designed to provide trainees with knowledge on spill prevention, containment and collection systems, the appropriate equipment and its maintenance and repair, in addition to emergency team management techniques and logistical issues, in order to provide the correct response to marine pollution situations, according to the basic structure established in contingency plans.

Duration

The course consists of 28 hours and it´s delivered over a period of  4 days.
