Passenger ships

This course has been designed for captains, officers, and bridge and engine room seamen, as well as other passenger ship personnel.

Goals

Apply the techniques and tactics provided to on-board emergency situations, to achieve the skills that will allow crew members to perform the responsibilities assigned to them regarding passenger safety procedures, as well as loading procedures and hull integrity.

Law: Amended STCW/78 Convention: Rule V/2; Section A-V/2; Table A-V/2 of the Code.

The Jovellanos Center is homologated by the DGMM Resolution of March 26, 2004.

Program

Familiarisation training.

Safety training for personnel.

Providing direct services to passengers in passenger spaces:

Communications.

Rescue devices.

Embarkation procedures.

Crowd control training.

Passenger safety, cargo safety loading, and hull integrating  training:

Loading and embarking procedures.

Transport dangerous goods.

Securing and lashing the load.

Opening, closing, and clamping openings in the hull.

Atmosphere on vehicle decks.

Emergency management human behaviour and training.

Tests and practical demonstrations.

Duration

The course consists of 32 hours and it´s delivered over a period of  5 days.
