Advanced training for ships subject to the IGF code

Masters, Officers and on board personnel with responsibility with systems and operations on ships subject to the IGF Code

Requirement: As admission requirement is necessary to hold a Basic Training for ships subject to the IGF Code Certificate.

Goals

According to STCW Code table A-V/3-2, the aim is to get the minimum competence in knowledge and understanding of:

- Chemistry and physics of fuel subjet to the IGF code

- Basic marine power plants

- IGF vessel equipment & operation

- Bunkering

- Environment and emergency

- Hazards, risk assessment, rules & regulations and safe working practices.

Maritime legislation: Course and evaluation training complying with Regulation V/3.8 STCW, 1978 as amended in 2010; Section A-V/3.2; Table A-V/3-2.

The Jovellanos Center is homologated by the DGMM Resolution of June 20, 2019.

Program

Contribute to the safe operation of a ship subject to the IGF Code.

Familiarity with physical and chemical properties of fuels aboard ships subject to the IGF Code.

Operate controls of fuel related to propulsion plant and engineering systems and services and safety devices on ships subject to the IGF Code.

Ability to safely perform and monitor all operations related to the fuels used on board ships subject to the IGF Code.

Plan and monitor safe bunkering, stowage and securing of the fuel on board ships subject to the IGF Code.

Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of fuels from ships subject to the IGF Code.

Monitor and control compliance with legislative requirements.

Take precautions to prevent hazards.

Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures on board a ship subject to the IGF Code.

Duration

The course consists of 24 certified hours, it´s delivered over a period of 3 days.
