Back Exercise with the Esperanza del Mar

The Maritime Rescue Agency vessel, María Pita has carried out a towing exercise in the area of the Vigo triangle with the hospital ship Esperanza del Mar. A training exercise involving two ships dedicated to protecting the life and health of seafarers, two ships closely linked by their missions.

The Esperanza del Mar is a hospital ship belonging to the Social Marine Institute (Instituto Social de la Marina) and was launched in 2011. It is Spain's first purpose-built hospital ship and operates alongside the Juan de la Cosa. The main task of the ship is to provide assistance to the fishing fleet and merchant seafarers, a fact that the Spanish fleet operating in the Atlantic is well aware of.
