The purpose of the course is to facilitate the recognition by the Spanish Maritime Administration of certificates of competency issued by other European Union countries or other countries with which Spain has a mutual recognition, in forcé that enable the exercise of the functions of Chief Engineer and First Engineer on civil vessels flying the Spanish flag.
Seafares issued by other countries signatory to the STCW Convention entitling to act as chief engineer and first engineer.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify, locate and apply the Spanish maritime legislation properly regarding the responsibilities included in their certificate of competency, as
stated in Annex IV of the DGMM resolution of 18 January 2025.
Methodology: Online mode through the virtual campus of Centro Jovellanos.
