Spanish maritime legislation - masters and chief mates

The purpose of the course is to facilitate the recognition by the Spanish Maritime Administration of certificates of competency issued by other European Union countries or other countries with which Spain has a mutual recognition, in force that enable the exercise of the functions of Master and Chief Mate on civil vessels flying the Spanish flag.

Seafares issued by other countries signatory to the STCW Convention entitling to act as a master or chief mate.

Goals

At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify, locate and apply the Spanish maritime legislation properly regarding the responsibilities included in their certificate of competency, as stated in Annex IV of the DGMM resolution of 27 January 2025.

Methodology: Online mode through the virtual campus of Centro Jovellanos.

Legislation: Resolution of 27 January 2025 of the Directorate-General of the Merchant Navy calling for tests on knowledge of Spanish maritime legislation for the year 2025 (Official State Gazette of 18 
February 2025) amending the Resolution of 9 September 2022 of the Directorate-General of the Merchant Navy.

Duration
