This course has been designed for personnel who hold “Survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue” and need to update their proficiency.
Update of the Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats Certificate, in accordance with the Resolution of 21 September 2016 of the Directorate-General of the Merchant Navy.
Legal basis: Course and assessment tests in accordance with Regulation VI/2.1 of the STCW Convention; section A-VI/2.5; table A-VI/2-1 of the STCW Training Code as amended.
Since 19 May 2017, the Maritime Safety Centre has been authorised by a resolution of the Directorate-General of the Merchant Navy to provide the ‘Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats Update Course’.
The course programme complies with the requirements of Order FOM/2296/2002 of 4 September 2002 of the Ministry of Public Works (B.O.E. nº 226 of 20/09/02), which establishes maritime speciality courses and certificates, as well as the Resolution of 2 February 2017 of the Directorate-General of the Merchant Navy, which sets out the procedure for revalidating certificates of proficiency under the STCW Convention.
The course consists of 12 hours and it´s delivered over a period of 2 days.
